OCEAN CRUISING

Nowhere brings the same level of exquisitely clashing landscapes straight out of a sci-fi novel like cutting-edge Arabia.

OCEAN CRUISING

Nowhere brings the same level of exquisitely clashing landscapes straight out of a sci-fi novel like cutting-edge Arabia.

A strip of shallow ocean in the United Arab Emirates, the Persian Gulf coastline is home to a capital that both celebrates and demonstrates the country’s culture – Abu Dhabi. On the water, traditional dhow sailing makes for an authentic voyage. Onshore, tours and artisan workshops display the region’s heritage.

In the Gulf of Oman, the Hajar Mountains ruggedly embrace Fujairah, making for dramatic dune excursions. Waves of apricot sand then beckon to Muscat, who knows how to please with a trio of city, coast and desert to explore.

A spotlight on the places not to be missed

    • A skyline view of modern skyscrapers beside a beach with clear blue water.
      Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is a cultural classroom comprised of several islands, each demanding to be explored. Delve into the thrill-a-minute Yas Island, home to the Grand Prix and Ferrari World, before discovering the main island’s Grand Mosque and Heritage Village. End by strolling Corniche promenade and enjoying high tea at Emirates Palace.

    • Aerial view of a coastal landscape with mountains, a sandy beach, and clustered buildings.
      Fujairah

The only Emirate of the country that’s more mountain than land, Fujairah’s landscapes are as striking as they are beautiful. A driving tour leads to some impeccable desert photo opportunities before returning to the city to tour the sites; including ancient forts, bustling markets and the oldest mosque in the UAE.

    • A coastal cityscape with traditional white buildings, a prominent blue and gold patterned mosque minaret, under a clear sky with birds flying and mountains in the background.
      Muscat, Oman

In an area of exhibitionism, this desert city steps back to let its traditions take centre stage. Heading ashore, Mutrah Souq showcases local life and the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque dazzles. While the sleepy Muscat Old Town and Bait Al Zubair museum provide a glimpse into the past.
