BEGINNERS – INTERMEDIATES - FAMILIES

Perched on a sunny shelf looking across the Rhône Valley to the Portes du Soleil, Villars is a small, laid-back, but well-established village resort.

The closest Swiss ski resort to Geneva Airport, is an ideal short break with numerous attractions for skiers and non-skiers alike including a two kilometre sledge run, indoor ice rink and a main street lined with welcoming tea rooms, pizzerias and bistros.

Enchanting winter walking trails lead to secluded mountain restaurants and sunny terraces with beautiful views across the valley.

The skiing

From the village, take the mountain railway to the scenic runs at the top of Bretaye or the gondola to the Roc d’Orsay. Families and beginners will love the wide, uncrowded pistes and gentle nursery slopes, while intermediates can test their skills on the delightful long cruising runs from Meilleret to Les Diablerets – an unspoilt village which sits beneath the imposing Diablerets Glacier. The gentle slopes of Glacier 3000 and glorious 10km descent are a rewarding days ski away via bus and cable car from Les Diablerets. Lift passes of three days or more increase the ski area to 232 kilometres by including Glacier 3000, Leysin and Les Mosses, accessible by rail or road.
