With Greek-chic style, tempting homegrown fare and even a couple of the archetypal wind-traps, the only Mykonos trademark sacrificed here is the wild party-sphere.

With Ornos a 12-minute walk away and Mykonos Town visible in the distance, this coastal spot could easily have catered to the party crowd. But, as the whitewashed buildings grow fewer on the stroll back from the village, Aeonic Suites & Spa seems a million miles away from the hubbub. A masterclass in zen, its aesthetics come from a fusion of Cycladic style and Japanese philosophy. The minimalistic look that can often be quite stark, however, is softened by natural textures which give a cosier feel – a tricky thing to achieve in such capacious suites. It’s this that makes guests reluctant to leave their boutique abodes. That and the fact that most have huge private pools of course.
Venturing outside of these sanctuaries though results in finding the ultimate hub of calm in the impressive spa. Set in its own courtyard, most of the day can be spent flitting across the cobbles from the spacious rooms that house relaxing and healing treatments, and the high-tech gym, sauna and hammam. Come twilight, the spa dwellers donned in floaty linens or dark asymmetric cottons congregate in the Cove Restaurant, waiting on classic Greek dishes or a fresh plate of sushi beside the twinkling lights of the infinity pool.
