An alpine escape for the mind, body and soul, the fifth European resort in the coveted COMO group’s portfolio blends the thrills and chills of ski-in ski-out access with a dedicated wellness resort.
Striking in its cloak of timber and glass, Hotel de Len’s good looks may be contemporary in nature but the ethos inside is deep-rooted in heritage and sustainability. A tribute to its surrounding forests, de Len (literally meaning ‘of wood’ in the local Ladino tongue) harnesses the benefits of its natural materials to improve guests’ well-being. Fragrant fir calms and relaxes while accents of pine aid the cleansing Magma13 panels fitted to the base of the beds to improve sleep. The same woods are used in the top floor spa – outfitted with the likes of a bio-sauna and ice waterfall, it plays host to ‘spa by night’ evenings for privacy-seeking pairs out to soothe the senses.
Cortina’s 120km of pistes and après-ski spots are the perfect snowy playground, but local life doesn’t stop at de Len’s threshold. Activities behind their doors have an authentic flare; local wines are sipped with an in-the-know sommelier and the chef is on hand to teach the tricks of the trade when making the regional dish of casunziei. There’s even a language teacher helping guests brush up on their Italian while wandering through the bars and shops of the town centre.

Languidly hovering in the space between recreation and relaxation, there’s no seasonality in which this pine tree-shrouded mega-lodge comes into its own — it excels in them all.
Located in the sleepy hamlet of Armentarola just above San Cassiano, this retreat stands across the road from the slopes and ski lift.
