The fully staffed Great House atop Devil's Hill houses eleven beautifully furnished bedrooms and a sleepover-friendly bunkhouse. While the ten additional Balinese houses allow the whole place to accommodate up to 48 guests in total. With the crystal-clear Caribbean Sea beckoning every which way, it makes sense that time here is usually spent among the waves. From the slow and steady pace of kayaking, paddleboarding and sailing to the adrenaline rush of kite surfing, waterskiing and eFoiling, there’s no preference left wanting.
While the beauty of Necker Island makes it hard to leave, discovering what else the British Virgin Islands have to offer is a must. One of the most picturesque places to sail to is Virgin Gorda, famous for its Baths – large granite boulders that form blissful pool grottoes.
Life on land may be a landscape of blues, greens and buffs, but below the waves is a kaleidoscope of even more colour. Dive down to the coral reefs or drift gently at the surface to uncover the surrounding marine life, or venture further to explore wrecks and dive after dark.
Leaving the beach is tricky, but a plethora of ways to stay active makes it worthwhile. Head to the courts for a spot of tennis or padel, or venture further afield on a hike of Necker’s 74 acres. The sand is never far away though – shoreside yoga becomes a daily ritual.
