The cerulean waters of the Kassandra peninsula promise endless pleasure for those who stay in these luxurious suites within the Sani Resort.
A smug smile plays on the lips of Santo Pure’s guests as they pass the late-afternoon crowds that have started to gather for Oia’s daily sunset spectacle. Smug because, when it came to picking a spacious, quiet and personalised place that’s different from the reams of options in this area, they chose wisely. It’s rare to find a resort style property on the island, there can be very little room after all, but Santo Pure occupies a position with oodles of space, managing to house a huge terrace that basks in the setting sun’s glow (as do the coveted sunset view rooms), a spa that’s vying to be the biggest on the island, and several pools dotted about so one is never too far away.
There’s a definite nod to Santorini in its mien, all bleached domes cut through by stone walkways, and shots of contemporary Greek in the form of sleek black furniture and crisp linens. But the atmosphere is more of a bygone Cycladic village courtesy of the patterned textiles and some local relics. It’s true Grecian heritage though is most evident in its hospitality. Perhaps it’s the lack of distraction by demanding guests, but nothing is too much trouble and staff make you feel like you’re welcomed into the fold from the moment the receptionist greets with “hello”.

The turquoise waters of the Kassandra peninsula lap the beachfront location of Sani Dunes, a new addition to the Sani Resort family.
Modishly minimalist across its seven tiers, this ultra-chic Cycladic boutique has the powder white colour scheme you’d expect in the world-famous caldera and sweet touches like keepsake Polaroids on arrival.
