Perahera Festival - Kandy
This grand festival takes place in Kandy in late July or early August. It is a Buddhist festival with dancing and colourful elephant parades. The festival lasts for ten days, culminating in the Diya Kepeema, a cutting ceremony which takes place on the last morning of Perahera.
