XV Beacon has moved with the times over its many years tucked away from the crowds of the main streets. Yes, its original caged lift still occupies the lobby, and the intimate, custom-designed rooms are made up of Art Deco accents (2000s-style), specially commissioned artwork, integrated fireplaces and antique furniture; but it does love it’s techy-toys and flashy cars too (did somebody say complimentary Lexus?). Boston’s forward-thinking ethos (earning it the title The Cradle of Liberty) has shaped this burly 10-storey building into a place that doesn’t bat for one specific team, and with nothing ever too far away, it wholly encourages visitors to see what all the fuss is about. From the prestigious Louisburg Square that claims some famous former residents, to Boston Common and Massachusetts State House down the road.

It’s obvious to see how it has ensnared many an award, including “Best Hotel in Boston” and making it into Preferred Hotels and Resorts’ ‘Legend’ collection (the portfolio’s ultimate luxury hotel list). Preferring the finer things in life, this independent property spares nothing when it comes to its discreet and personalised service – including the very well-connected concierge – and the aptly named Mooo….; the hotel’s steakhouse that’s fond of hosting wine pairing dinners with bottles from the private vaulted cellar that also houses a Roman mosaic dating back to the 4^th century.
