Florida

  • Palm tree sandy beach and blue sea and sky

Pearlescent shorelines, metropolitan delights and Peter Pan experiences aplenty – this sunshine state is simply a rollercoaster experience.

Pearlescent shorelines, metropolitan delights and Peter Pan experiences aplenty – this sunshine state is simply a rollercoaster experience.

Florida hasn’t earned its nickname ‘the Sunshine State’ for nothing. Being blessed with year-round rays from coasts to theme parks, it’s rare that any endeavour here needs to take a rain check. Making it the worthiest confidante for little kids and their never-quite-grown-ups to trust in its dream catching personality, that’s widely known to spread its pixie dust way beyond the realms of Orlando.

Twinkling among the street art murals in hip-and-happening Miami, there’s a cacophony of creativity that’s enough to tease days away from lollygagging on the beaches. While the divergent islands and flourishing national parks from Florida Keys to the Everglades invite an adventurous side with its watersports activities and wild discoveries.

In pursuit of…

A skeleton in a glass case at the end of a stone walkway surrounded by palm trees
…a certified crowd pleaser

From hair-raising rollercoasters to street art and alligators, Florida practically invented the saying ‘different strokes for different folks’. Spanning the ethereal stomping grounds at Walt Disney World® and Universal Studios, big and little kids get their fill of living out multi-universe fantasies. While the cool vibe over at Miami is just the fix for curious teens and tweens, ready to make their mark cycling side-streets and tagging their murals. And, because nothing says adult’s playground better than the promise of winding down, Bal Harbour is the temptress to spend days outstretched on the deck of a yacht sipping on champagne.

Blessed with year-round rays from coasts to theme parks, it’s rare that any endeavour here needs to take a rain check.

A sense of place

Get to know our favourite spots in Florida, from the hub of theme park thrills in Orlando to the effortless downtime of Florida Keys and Key West.

  • Out of focus people looking towards the Cinderalla Castle at Disneyland
    Orlando

The nerve centre of theme park thrills, Orlando brings joy to everybody’s inner lost boy or girl. And when the never-growing-up days have just hit the right spot at Walt Disney World®  and Universal Studios, the unexpected Hook (a nice one, this time) is found in its bountiful shopping district and outstanding botanic gardens.

  • A white crane stood on a wooden pier
    Florida Keys and Key West

Effortlessly laid back with their glistening waterfronts just away from its mainland, there’s no wonder that Tennessee Williams and Ernest Hemmingway spent their downtime here. Making it a great spot for the outdoorsy & artsy types to take a leaf from their own book; lounging by the beaches, perusing national parks, taking a deep dive into aquatic sports, or checking out the theatre inspired by Williams’ own name.

  • People playing volleyball on a sandy beach
    Gulf Coast

Attracting sybaritic sun-seekers all year round to its icing-sugar sands at St Pete’s and Clearwater, the cherry-on-top is found at Sarasota and Naples for its luxe-life appeal; that’s even as far-reaching as some of the very best of marine biology in the Everglades.

  • Low angle of a white and orange concrete building
    Miami

Latin culture, Cuban cuisine, and a personality as vibrant as its candy-coloured constructions; Miami’s youthfully rebellious side is found in the revered Wynwood Arts District, while its calm-and-collected counterpart lines palm-tree-decorated streets over at the indulgent Bal Harbour. Creating a charming contradiction that’ll only get more alluring the longer you suss it out.

  • A white lifeguard stand on a sandy beach overlooking a pastel sunset and teal beach waves
    Palm Beach

Gatsby-era architecture rubbing shoulders with glitzy designer shops, where even the vanilla sand beaches are whirring for the attention that fills thrilling activity parks. This is a spot for all the family to unwind and have some fun.
