New England
A playground for presidents and poets and the birthplace of America itself, New England’s landscapes may change with the seasons, but its quaint charm is evergreen.

History leaps off the map in Massachusetts, from Boston to the charmingly quaint Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard, whilst Vermont (the Green Mountain State) draws in with picture-perfect scenery, hiking trails and glorious skiing. The sinuous coastline of Maine is sandwiched between rocky islands and majestic mountains, with each village seeming more enchanting than the last and the Appalachian Trail whispering a come-hither to wildlife watchers. In Connecticut, there are trails of a different kind, followed by vino connoisseurs seeking out the state’s renowned wineries.
And a tranquillity can be found in the pretty coves and bays of Rhode Island, the sheltered beaches of Narragansett Bay contrasting with miles of surf-pounded shoreline. But while each state differs deeply from its neighbours, the love of good food is universal, be it a huge fresh lobster, sumptuous seafood chowder or a warm slice of blueberry pie.
