With an aesthetic that’s hard to pigeonhole, this is one for the design buffs. There’s a bit of everything: faux horned skulls and cacti that call to Arizona and Mexico; woven rattans and soft linens like an Ibizan bolthole; safari-inspired lion sculptures and animal prints; and, of course, local stone and oversized artefacts solidify its Greek heritage. That might sound like a lot to take in, but of all the design-heavy hotels on the island, Panoptis manages to balance its quirky and its calm. Its aesthetics creating a place where every corner is both photogenic and rejuvenating.
